Like a submarine, whose presence and threat are certain but precise details unclear, the Nvidia 1.6T PAM-4 DSP surfaced at the show. The DSP was hiding in plain sight at the MACOM and Coherent booths, but without any accompanying press. Nvidia is clearly sending a message to the industry that it will encroach on its supply chain to reduce costs.
