The report examines optical hardware shipments across four global regions to Incumbent, Wholesale, Cloud & Colo, Cable MSO & Broadband, Enterprise & Government customers, details vendor market share for equipment sales to each market, and provides forecasts by region and customer type.

Highlights this quarter:

  • Cloud & Colo continues to lead growth in North America, up 45% this quarter and forecast to end the year up almost 30% from 2018.
  • Ciena increased its Cloud & Colo market share with over 50% share in 3Q.
  • Both NA and EMEA posted healthy growth and both are forecast to end 2019 with net year over year gains.
  • Cable & MSO is growing outside of NA. The more than 10% decrease in NA sales was outweighed by gains in EMEA and APAC.
