The big story at OFC among network equipment manufacturers was the newly combined Nokia and Infinera. OFC fell one month after the acquisition’s close, which was just enough time for the combined entity to organize a cohesive show of force and begin messaging product plans. At the investor event and in meetings, executives outlined the broad contours of the rationalized portfolio alongside reassurances that all existing product commitments will be met (because telecom products never die, they just fade away).
