Open and disaggregated network equipment, software, and standards were a common theme on the floor and in presentations at OFC this year. Vendors showcased disaggregated hardware and open software interfaces, while standards bodies and industry groups proposed updates to recommendations. Standardization organizations and network operators continued the debate about the benefits and challenges of implementing open and disaggregated networks.
